Der Hauptmann und sein Frauenbataillon

Pantaleón Pantoja, Hauptmann in der peruanischen Armee, gilt als hervorragender
Offizier - und er ist glücklich verheiratet. Beste Voraussetzungen
also für eine heikle Sondermission, mit der man ihn betraut: Hauptmann
Pantoja soll einen Trupp von Prostituierten durch den Amazonasdschungel
führen, von Camp zu Camp, auf daß diese die Sexualnot der fern von ihren
Frauen oder Freundinnen stationierten Soldaten lindern mögen.

Hauptmann Pantoja ist ein pflichtbewußter Mann und seine Aufgabe - von
vielen als undurchführbar betrachtet - erfüllt er mit Bravour und Brillanz.
Jedenfalls will es am Anfang so scheinen. Doch dann erregt eine der ihm
schutzbefohlenen Damen, die schöne Colombiana, mehr als nur seine Aufmerksamkeit.

Pantoja plötzlich großen Widersprüchen ausgesetzt: zwischen Pflicht und
Neigung, zwischen fremdem Auftrag und persönlicher Erfüllung. Hauptmann

Nach einem Roman des peruanischen Autors Mario Vargas Llosa entstand
eine exotische Militärsatire, die von den Produzenten als "subtropische Antwort
auf CATCH 22 und DR. STRANGELOVE" angekündigt wird.

Pantaleón Pantoja is a captain in the Peruvian army. Not only is he an excellent
officer, he is also happily married, which makes him the perfect man for
a tricky special mission. Captain Pantoja is ordered to take a group of prostitutes
through the Amazonian jungle from one military camp to another,
so that they may alleviate the suffering of the sex-starved soldiers stationed
out there, so far away from their wives and girlfriends.

In spite of the fact that many believe his task to be impossible, Captain Pantoja
takes his duties very seriously and carries out his mission with bravura.
At least at first. But then, Colombiana, one of the ladies in need of his protection
begins to arouse more than just his interest. All of a sudden, in the midst of thick, impenetrable lianas, Captain Pantoja finds himself torn
between powerful contradictions: between duty and attraction, between
someone else's orders and his own personal fulfilment. Capatin Pantoja is
playing with fire . . .

An exotic military satire based on a novel by the Peruvian writer Mario
Vargas Llosa, described by the producers as a "subtropical riposte to CATCH
22 and DR. STRANGELOVE".
