Dokumentation über Die Wiederverfilmung von Hitchcocks Klassiker "Psycho" durch Gus van Sant.
Als Gus Van Sant vor zwei Jahren bekanntgab, er wolle Hitchcocks PSYCHO
Einstellung für Einstellung nachdrehen, wurde dies eher skeptisch aufgenommen.
Auch nach der Uraufführung des Films blieb sein Ansatz umstritten.
Gus Van Sant betrachtet seine Unternehmung als Konzeptkunst. Weil
bei ihr der künstlerische Prozeß ebenso wichtig ist wie das Kunstwerk
selbst, war er einverstanden, daß bei den Dreharbeiten diese Dokumentation
entstehen konnte.

Many were sceptical when, two years ago, Gus Van Sant announced his
intention to refilm Hitchcock's PSYCHO, shot by shot. Even after the film
opened, Van Sant's approach provoked a good deal of controversy. Gus Van
Sant sees his venture as a piece of concept art. And, because the artistic
process is just as important as the work of art itself, he agreed to the mak-ing
of this documentary while his film was being shot.
